Sibelius is for writing out charts and making sound files of said charts, which, with the way sample libraries sound these days, can sound very good indeed. Of course, I might just be speculating Maybe some others who have used Melodyne will have some insights.ĭon't get too excited, it's not a full-on workstation station (yet), Sibelius is still a strictly MIDI (and now VST) environment. Can I now do all of that in Sibelius? Or create a releasable product? Is Sibelius evolving into a full-on workstation? That's why I'm excited. I'm a church musician, so I spend a lot of time making charts, rehearsal CDs and tracks for the folks I work with. You can do multi track recording among other things. Hi Clifton - I haven't had my hands on Melodyne either, so I might be misunderstanding what I'm seeing in their videos, but it appears that it is a bit more than an auto tuner. I only briefly glanced at Melodyne, as they advertise on the KC, and it looked to me like just an audio auto-tune/auto-quantize program.why would that be useful in conjunction with Sibelius? Think how cool it would be to run Melodyne as a plugin. I dig Sibelius and think that this is a really exciting step up.
